Solo-theatre comedy with side effects
Welcome to a normal day in a normal family doctor’s office! The waiting room is bursting at the seams, the doctor’s assistant is in the starting blocks and the doctor comes to work, as always, under a lot of stress. Dr. Annegret Kern is about to start her consultation, and it’s dripping from the ceiling. A water damage in the consulting room!
While doctor’s assistant Natia tells the general average to fight, Dr. Kern keeps her patients happy in the waiting room. She begins to tell about her daily work between consultation hours, emergency services, further training, pharmaceutical consultations and paperwork. The health care system gradually cracks and Dr. Kern’s life is further away from that proverbial goddess in white than one would expect. Fortunately, she has the down-to-earth Natia at her side, and even from the highest position many a watchful eye is thrown at her. In a general practitioner’s practice, more things between heaven and earth are possible than a health insurance bill would suggest.
Heike Feist transforms the theatre hall into a waiting room in a furious triple role. With heart and a sharp eye, she takes the relationship between doctor and patient to heart and the pharmaceutical industry and health insurance companies also get their fat off. And in the course of this exciting and informative theatre evening, a doctor like the one we believe we know from many clichés becomes a doctor we would all like to have.
