Arena Berlin surprises with new event experience and workshops
The DesignFest presents design, creativity & lifestyle for a wide audience
Young, colourful, creative and fresh! The DesignFest comes after the stations in Cologne to the international furniture fair and Stuttgart, to the capital Berlin! The new festival for design, creativity and lifestyle will make a guest appearance in the Arena Berlin and impresses with more than 200 young labels and numerous workshops.
“With the DesignFest we want to reinvent the format of a trade fair,” says Jennifer Reaves, CEO of the international design fair blickfang and responsible for the new event experience. Reaves is both the initiator and creative mind behind the new concept: “Interest in good design and the finer things in life has increased in recent years. Today, younger audiences also want to surround themselves with unique and contemporary design. To achieve this, the particularly creative among us even like to lend a hand themselves and create their own, very personal favourite pieces. We are also experiencing an incredibly exciting time in the food industry and in the catering trade. Superfood is literally on everyone’s lips, and along with design, DIY and lifestyle, it has become a part of the everyday life of trend-conscious consumers.
Reaves designed the DesignFest for exactly this generation. Only here do around 200 young but also international favourite brands from interior, fashion, beauty and food come together and make the Arena Berlin the largest concept store with festival character for hip products.
Well-known interior bloggers around Holly Becker and Miriam Jacks will be on hand to answer questions and present their very personal new discoveries at their own trend shows. Visitors can celebrate their creativity on the many action areas and take part in workshops by the biggest DIY stars – flower arrangements and handlettering are on the programme, as well as interior workshops and sessions on homemade beauty products. With delicious snacks, new streetfood trends, delicious coffee or cool drinks, the DesignFest then invites visitors to relax in a series of playful themed lounges. All according to the motto: Only those who were there really experienced it!
“The work at the DesignFest inspires me”, says Reaves. “Every day I meet people who share our vision of creating a new event experience for a modern and young audience! These pioneers set a good example and prove to us that it’s time to do things differently!
The DesignFest is a joint project between the international design fair blickfang and the publishing house Gruner&Jahr.
