Future of Festivals | Messe • Kongress • Campus • Nov 2023 • Arena Berlin
The Future of Festivals is the largest meeting of the festival industry in the German-speaking region. It is the industry meeting for all organizers, service providers, associations, decision-makers and trainees from the festival sector.
After 3,500 participants came together to network and exchange ideas at the second edition, for the first time without Corona requirements, we are now pleased to invite you to the unique festival networking fair at the new date for 2023.
We will try out new formats and ideas again this year, but the mission for the days FR 24 & SA 25 November 2023 remains clear for us: we bring together festival makers, service providers, professionals, university graduates, young professionals and volunteers.
In the spacious Arena Berlin, directly on the Spree River in the heart of Berlin, the focus is on networking, inspiration and innovation. The event, which is divided into the areas of trade fair, congress and campus, offers plenty of space for exhibitors and more on the 6,500 m² area (plus outdoor area). This is where the exchange about the future of the festival industry takes place, among other things on topics such as sustainability & personnel / recruitment in the event industry. The 200 exhibitors will present their latest innovations and sustainable products for the next festival season in the exhibition area.
The conference section offers a lot of content such as lectures and panel discussions around the topics of the festival makers*. The 2022 program included over 40 sessions (panel discussions, masterclasses, keynotes and satellite events) with over (inter)national 100 speakers. Over the last two years, greats of the festival scene like Stephan Thanscheidt (FKP Scorpio), Cathi Krämer (Rock am Ring), Steven Raspa (Burning Man), Holger Hübner (Wacken Open Air) but also specialists like Falco Zanini (Event Safety) and Alexandra von Samson (Rock am Ring) were on stage next to young up-and-coming festival makers like Ines Fischer & Erik Mersmann (Lautfeuer Festival).
The complete program of Stage 1 was broadcast on free TV on Alex TV. Further program points are the Start-Up Area, Kids Space, the Workshop Area and the Podcast Studio.
The 2023 season offers new challenges, but also many opportunities to implement the resolutions. Accordingly, there will be plenty of opportunity to share experiences and exchange ideas. Long-standing topics such as sustainability, personnel, promotion of young talent and energy will also play a central role in the 2024 festival season.
The two-day festival ticket (admission FR & SA) for the Future of Festivals 2023 is available for €30.
We are firmly convinced of the further development of the festivals. We face the questions of the present with innovative and visionary ideas to provide answers to the challenges of the future
Let’s network! Let us together write festival present and future!
